Job Description

Logistics Specialist

Our client, a well-known company based in Portland, OR, is seeking a Logistics Specialist on a full time/permanent basis. This role will focus on the coordination of domestic trucking shipments and partner with several departments to ensure timely delivery/pick up of a variety of goods.

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and schedule domestic freight shipments.
  • Assist with and serve as a backup for logistics and administrative tasks within the Trading department.
  • Assist the Buying Department with inland freight arrangements.
  • Prepare documentation for domestic consumers as required.
  • Act as a backup for Export Logistics & Documentation as needed.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with trucking companies.
  • Monitor and assist in negotiating freight expenses.
  • Liaise with various departments across company’s supply chain
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactively take on additional tasks when workflow allows.
  • Ensure punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of related experience in the Logistics/Procurement industry.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
