Construction Manager - Higher Education Projects

Location: On-site, Client-Facing Role

Employment Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday-Friday, In Person

Salary: $150,000 - $170,000

Experience Level: Mid to Senior

About the Role

A leading construction management team is seeking an experienced Construction Manager with 10+ years of experience to oversee major higher education projects. This role will require close collaboration with project stakeholders, ensuring that construction schedules, budgets, and quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the construction process in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared, maintained, and available for audits, post-performance reviews, and regulatory inspections.
• Monitor and manage construction schedules, collaborating with Design-Build teams, campus representatives, inspectors, and regulatory officials to align critical milestones.
• Guide construction decisions to keep the project within scope and budget, working closely with the Project Manager to address change orders.
• Support the preparation of materials for executive-level presentations, including bi-annual Campus Planning Committee meetings and monthly project updates.
• Oversee change management and project closeout processes in collaboration with the Project Manager and Project Engineer.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in project leadership within the construction industry.
• 10+ years of experience in public works projects.
• Experience with Design-Build and/or Progressive Design-Build delivery methods.
• Institutional or higher education project experience preferred.
• Familiarity with California State University (CSU) projects is a plus but not required.
• Strong ability to lead and supervise construction-related activities.
