Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Senior to join a dynamic tax and accounting team supporting multiple family offices and related entities with complex organizational structures.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Services

• Prepare, review, and process income tax estimates, extensions, and returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and foundations.
• Maintain and reconcile investment tax basis schedules using Sage and Excel.
• Research and resolve federal and state tax notices.
• Support annual tax planning and strategy initiatives.

Accounting

• Reconcile tax reporting documents (K-1s, brokerage accounts, business transactions) to general ledgers and post adjustments as needed.
• Coordinate the preparation and filing of 1099s, state withholding, and other statutory filings.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of entity-level reconciliations across multiple systems (e.g., Sage, CCH Access).

Compliance and Reporting

• Assist with filings such as 1099s, state-specific reports, withholding submissions, and international or Indian tax returns when applicable.

Client and Family Office Support

• Partner with team members to meet financial and administrative needs of family members and related entities.
• Provide prompt, professional responses to ad-hoc inquiries and information requests.
• Contribute to educational sessions and briefings on tax and financial topics for clients.

Qualifications

Education and Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or MBA preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience .
• Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, investment partnerships, trusts, private foundations, or non-profits.
• Strong general ledger and journal entry experience.
• Familiarity with accounting/tax systems such as Sage and CCH Access.
• Family Office or Wealth Management experience preferred.

Technology Skills

• Forward-thinking and AI-aware ; comfortable leveraging technology to streamline and automate processes.
• Experience with tax tools such as K-1x, SurePrep, and Vanilla.
• Working knowledge of data tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
