Full-time - Salary Range
$35,798 - $51,590 depending on experience.

Hurricane City covers 100% of the premiums for the High Deductible health plan for full-time employees and their qualified dependents. New hires receive 40 hours of vacation time after successful completion of their probationary period, and an additional 40 hours of vacation at their one-year mark.

Position Summary
Incumbents in this position perform a variety of entry level skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of city streets, street signing and warning devices. Operates specialized heavy equipment and performs cement work on flat surfaces, curbs and gutter; grouts surfaces and joints.
Supervision Received
Works under the general supervision of the Street Superintendent

Minimum Qualifications
1. Qualifications, Education and Experience
a. High school diploma or equivalent AND
b. One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in a field directly related to above duties.
c. Possess and maintain a valid Utah Driver's License throughout employment.
d. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
2. Special Qualifications
a. Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with the required endorsements within 90 days of hire date.
b. Possession of or the ability to obtain a Utah Department of Transportation certification in construction signing and flagging within 120 days of hire date.
c. All accredited certification must be kept current. Failure to do so may result in loss of position.

Condition of Employment

Hurricane City employment can require employees to occasionally work outside of their normal job duties to assist with city sponsored events and/or projects. The employee is expected to forgo normal work duties to assist with the completion of these events and/or projects. In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the deliver and restoration of vital services.
