Job Description

  • Fast Growing Precision Machining & Assembly Operation servicing the Aerospace and Defense Market (Raytheon/Lockheed/Northrup) seeks a proven Maintenance Manager to join its team. This is a key position reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Manager and will be responsible for all aspects of machinery/equipment maintenance in a capital equipment intensive manufacturing environment. This is a newly created position within the company. The company has recently expanded operations with a brand new building and is consistently adding over 5 mill in annual capital equipment every year. This role will oversee a team of 5-10 maintenance technicians. This role will also evaluate and refine the Preventative Maintenance Program for the company.   • Job Summary: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, and safety of manufacturing facilities and associated equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring that the production environment meets stringent aerospace industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Facility Maintenance and Operations:
    • Manage the maintenance and repair of complex manufacturing equipment and systems, including CNC machines, robotic systems, and specialized aerospace manufacturing tools.
    • Implement and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
    • Develop and manage a facility maintenance schedule that aligns with production schedules and minimizes disruptions.
    • Team Management:
    • Lead, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians ensuring adherence to industry best practices and safety standards.
    • Coordinate work assignments, manage team performance, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
    • Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry regulations, including AS9100, FAA, and other relevant standards.
    • Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and mitigate risks.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
    • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting costs and monitoring expenditures.
    • Oversee procurement and implementation of capital equipment, maintenance supplies, spare parts, and tools, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
    • Manage contracts with external service providers and vendors, ensuring performance meets required standards.
    • Emergency Response and Troubleshooting:
    • Lead response efforts to facility emergencies, including equipment failures, power outages, and safety incidents.
    • Develop and implement emergency response plans and ensure staff are trained in their roles.
    • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and compliance audits.
    • Generate and analyze reports on facility performance, equipment status, and maintenance costs to support decision-making.
    • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in facilities management, maintenance, or engineering within an aerospace or high-tech manufacturing environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing equipment, systems, and industry regulations.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a technical team.
    • Experience managing budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to respond to emergencies effectively.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
