Sandy Hill Nursery School is a play-based, relationship-centered preschool that values connection, creativity, and curiosity. Our team of dedicated educators provides a nurturing environment where children learn through exploration, hands-on experiences, and meaningful relationships.

Position Overview:

We are seeking caring and dependable substitute teachers join our preschool community. The Substitute teacher provides support in maintaining a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment in the absence of a regular teacher. Ideal candidates will have a genuine love for children, a flexible attitude and the ability to quickly adapt to different classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a nurturing, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children
• Follow daily routines and plans provided by teachers or administrators
• Supervise children closely to ensure safety and positive interactions
• Support transitions, circle time, activity exploration, outdoor play, and snack/lunch times
• Collaborate with other staff to uphold the school's values and expectations
• Communicate effectively with children, staff, and administrators

Qualifications:

• Minimum 12 ECE (Early Childhood Education) units required; Associate or Bachelor's in Child Development or related field preferred
• Prior experience working with children ages 2-5 in a preschool or childcare setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
