Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Azure cloud migration to manage, optimize, and tune SQL Server databases while migrating them to Azure. This role involves ensuring performance, security, and high availability of databases in both on-prem and cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on performance tuning across various database platforms.
Responsibilities:
Manage, monitor, and optimize SQL Server databases to ensure peak performance.
Lead database migrations from on-prem to Azure (SQL Database, Managed Instance, or VMs).
Implement high availability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
Work with infrastructure teams to integrate SQL databases with Azure services.
Troubleshoot performance, security, and scalability issues in both on-prem and cloud environments, applying performance tuning best practices.
Analyze query execution plans, optimize indexing strategies, and fine-tune system configurations for improved database performance.
Requirements:
7+ years of SQL Server DBA experience, with 2+ years in Azure.
Proven experience in migrating databases to Azure (SQL Database, Managed Instances).
Strong knowledge of Azure SQL services, security best practices, and migration tools.
Extensive experience in performance tuning, including query optimization, index management, and server configuration for SQL Server databases.
Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning methodologies.
Microsoft Azure Database Administrator certification preferred.
