Phaxis Education is seeking a dedicated and student-centered High School Counselor to join a supportive school community in Garden City, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who thrives on helping students succeed both academically and personally.

About the Role : The High School Counselor will provide academic guidance, social-emotional support, and college/career planning to high school students. You will collaborate closely with teachers, families, and administrators to ensure each student has the resources and support needed to thrive.

Responsibilities :

• Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Assist students with course selection, scheduling, and graduation planning
• Support college and career readiness initiatives, including applications, scholarships, and post-secondary planning
• Identify at-risk students and create intervention plans
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
• Maintain accurate records and follow district policies and ethical guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings, student support teams, and schoolwide initiatives
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school culture

Qualifications :

• Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field
• Valid Michigan School Counselor (SCL) Credential or eligibility
• Experience working in a high school setting is preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to connect with diverse student populations
