OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Each Project Executive helps the Company better serve and expand its Client base, drive sustainable financial growth by increasing sales and forging strong relationships with new and existing Clients. The Project Executive is a senior manager responsible for the overall success of lines of business units they lead, from initial bidding to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to the budget, and high quality while maintaining strong client relationships and managing project teams from concept to completion. They act as an executive-level contact for the Company’s Clients, Trade Partners, Suppliers and Personnel. They act as a support conduit for the Estimating and Operations teams by assisting and participating in the allocation of resources to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality projects while bolstering profit margins. As a primary face of the company, the Project Executive strives to keep the Client happy to encourage long-term business relationships.
METRICS FOR SUCCESS
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & PRECONSTRUCTION SUPPORT
- Produce prospective Clients and pursue opportunities that align with the Company’s Vision and strategic market sectors
- Develop pricing models for the market sectors in which they are assigned
- Develop a revenue growth strategy focused both on profitable work and long-term Client Satisfaction
- Participate in various industry organizations to promote the Company (i.e. NAIOP/ABC/WBC)
- Work in collaboration with the Preconstruction team to increase sales targets and expand Client base
- Assist in the development of budgets and hard costs for Clients/project bids
- Participate in bid proposal kick-off meetings
- Participate in Trade Partner/Vendor negotiations
- Secure new business and negotiate contracts
OPERATIONS & PROJECT DELIVERY
- Work in support of Operations Leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and of the highest quality
- Manage and oversee the project teams and monitor project progress, solve issues, and ensure project budget and profit targets are met
- Assist project teams and Preconstruction with buyout, scheduling, and Client progress meetings
- Review projects for challenges that impact budget and profitability and provide solutions in conjunction with senior management
- Assists their team in coordinating field staff, materials, and equipment, while ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and quality standards
- Provide regular progress reports to Operations Leadership on project performance and office operations
- Provide team leadership that models effective project management
- Oversee the development and execution of large-scale project schedules in cooperation with the project team
- Interface and maintain positive relationships with Trade Partners and Vendors
- Resolve Client problems that arise by helping develop and implement recovery plans
- Ensure all specifications are met for the closeout process

- Develop new business opportunities that produce Financial Stability with high profit margins to meet the Company’s annual goals

- Ensure that the Company’s Safety policies and procedures are met, and projects are free from accidents and injuries
- Work in tandem with the VP of Construction and Manager of Technology to adopt Forward Thinking, staying ahead of industry trends and technologies
- Mentor their teams, develop employees and promote their advancement from within while assisting in identifying future resource needs
- Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training and offboarding when required by identifying their team’s strengths and weaknesses; conduct annual reviews for their team members
DEMONSTRATED CAPABILITIES
- BS or MS Degree in Construction, Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum of 15 years of construction industry experience working at a commercial general contracting firm, leading project teams and managing them from start to finish on progressively more complex projects
- Experience managing and mentoring people
- Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, estimating, and purchasing
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project Scheduling software, and Bluebeam
- Familiarity with engineering principles and techniques and with construction drawings and documents
- Passionate about building and producing quality products
- Strong technical and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires semi-frequent field visits: +-20% field and 80% office as necessary
