This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to manage and contribute to a wide array of challenging projects, from initial estimation through final delivery, within a company known for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

As a Project Engineer, you will be a key driver in ensuring the successful execution of projects, encompassing technical design, cost estimation, project planning, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. This role demands a proactive individual with a strong technical aptitude, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all engineering aspects of assigned projects, from the initial inquiry and estimation phase through design, fabrication, assembly, and final delivery.
  • Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for projects, including material costs, labor requirements, and outsourced services, utilizing your technical understanding and analytical skills.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales and business development teams during the quoting process, providing technical expertise and ensuring accurate and competitive proposals.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies, utilizing project management tools and methodologies to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned projects, effectively communicating with clients, internal engineering teams, manufacturing personnel, and external vendors.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to develop clear and concise project scopes and execution plans.
  • Prepare and manage all project-related documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, fabrication packages, and inspection reports.
  • Coordinate the flow of technical information between engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to quality standards.
  • Proactively identify and address any technical challenges, design issues, or project roadblocks, developing effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Track project progress, monitor costs against budget, and provide regular updates to project stakeholders on project status and potential risks.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings, design reviews, and final acceptance processes, ensuring all technical requirements are met.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and project management departments, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and optimize processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer-specific requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standardized estimating tools and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related field) is required, providing a strong technical foundation for the role.
  • 1-5 years of progressive experience in a project engineering role within a manufacturing environment, with direct involvement in project estimation and execution.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing accurate cost estimates for manufactured products, including material take-offs and labor calculations.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical and project-related issues.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and their application in project management and material tracking is a plus.
