The MRI Technologist will perform a variety of magnetic resonance imaging procedures across multiple locations, primarily supporting an inpatient hospital setting but also providing coverage at outpatient clinics as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, screen, and position patients for a wide array of MRI procedures, including cardiac, brain/spine, breast, and orthopedic scans.
  • Perform and be comfortable with Venipuncture to start IV injections for administering contrast media.
  • Prepare all necessary materials and supplies for patient procedures, including contrast agents and i-STAT for blood work.
  • Operate and troubleshoot MRI equipment, primarily Siemens Era 1.5T, Siemens Avanto 1.5T, and Siemens Verio 3T machines.
  • Ensure compliance with all MR safety protocols for patients and the environment.
  • Manage patient flow, expecting to see approximately 10-15 patients during a 10-hour shift.
  • Perform complete and accurate charting in the EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR), documenting signs and symptoms, patient history, and details regarding contrast usage.
  • Handle high-volume communication (approx. 10-20 calls/day) from registration, doctors, and other clinical staff regarding scheduling and verifying orders for implant and pacemaker patients.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
  • Proven experience and comfort with performing Venipuncture for IV contrast administration.
  • Solid experience with MR safety protocols, patient positioning, and the physics of the MRI machine.
  • Clinical experience working with common MRI procedures, including cardiac, brain/spine, breast, and orthopedic imaging.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different facility protocols and patient populations.
  • Experience with the EPIC EMR system is preferred.
