The logistics role involves managing the delivery and removal of materials and equipment for the wind repower projects. This position is crucial for ensuring that all logistical aspects of the project are handled efficiently and accurately.
This role is vital for the successful execution of the wind repower projects, requiring strong collaboration, coordination, and attention to detail.
Deliverables and Responsibilities:
- Coordination with Subcontractors and Sourcing Department:
- Material Delivery: Manage the delivery of new materials to the site, including nacelles, generators, and blades.
- Equipment Removal: Coordinate the removal of certain pieces of equipment from the site to other locations for disposal or storage.
- Inspection and Documentation: Inspect Deliveries: Inspect incoming deliveries to ensure they meet project specifications.
- Document and Track: Document and track all incoming and outgoing materials and equipment.
- Support Offsite Efforts: Offsite Hauling: Support efforts required for offsite hauling of materials and equipment.
- Coordination with Contractors: Laydown Coordination: Coordinate with contractors on laydown areas and locations for materials and equipment on-site.
- Detail-Oriented Management: Attention to Detail: Ensure all logistical details are tracked and checked, maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
- Daily Planning: Start the day with a planning session to outline the day's objectives and tasks.
- Meetings with Subcontractors and Sourcing Department: Hold meetings to coordinate the delivery of new materials and the removal of equipment. Discuss any potential issues and align on the day's logistics plan.
- Inspection and Documentation: Inspect Deliveries: Upon arrival of new materials such as nacelles, generators, and blades, inspect them to ensure they meet project specifications.
- Document and Track: Accurately document and track all incoming and outgoing materials and equipment. This includes updating logs and records to maintain an organized inventory.
- Coordination with Contractors: Laydown Area Management: Work closely with contractors to coordinate the laydown areas and locations for materials and equipment on-site. Ensure that everything is placed correctly and efficiently.
- Support Offsite Efforts: Offsite Hauling Coordination: Manage the logistics of offsite hauling for equipment that needs to be disposed of or stored elsewhere. This involves coordinating with transportation teams and ensuring all necessary documentation is in place.
- Problem-Solving and Adjustments: Address Issues: Throughout the day, address any logistical issues that arise, such as delays in delivery or problems with equipment removal. Quickly find solutions to keep the project on track.
- Adjust Plans: Make any necessary adjustments to the logistics plan based on real-time developments and feedback from the field.
- End-of-Day Review: Progress Review: Review the day's progress, ensuring all tasks were completed as planned. Document any important observations or issues.
- Next Day Planning: Begin planning for the next day, ensuring that all necessary resources and information are in place for continued smooth operations. This routine ensures that the logistics aspects of the wind repower projects are managed efficiently, with a strong focus on detail, coordination, and problem-solving.
Requirements:
- Coordination Experience: Prior Experience: 3-5 years of experience in coordination roles, preferably within the renewable energy sector or similar industries.
- Computer Literacy: Software Proficiency: Ability to use various computer applications and software for tracking, documentation, and communication. This includes proficiency in project management tools, spreadsheets, and logistics software.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain management is essential.
- Collaborative Skills: Team Player: Strong ability to work collaboratively with subcontractors, sourcing departments, construction managers, and other stakeholders.
- Effective communication and teamwork are crucial for successful project execution.
- Attention to Detail: Detail-Oriented: Ability to meticulously inspect document and track incoming and outgoing materials and equipment. Ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all logistical tasks is vital.
- Field and Office Work Balance: Versatility: Comfortable working in both office and field environments. This includes managing logistics from an office setting while also conducting on-site inspections and coordination.
- These skills and qualifications ensure that the candidate can effectively manage the logistical aspects of the wind repower projects, contributing to their successful completion.
- A valid driver’s license is required as well as dependable transportation to/from site.
