Logistics Specialist

Location: Florida Region - 100% Travel

Pay Rate: $21-25 hourly

Education and Years of Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5-7 years related experience required

Top Three Skills:

• Reporting of key performance indicators
• High proficiency in MS products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is required

Summary:

The main function of a logistics specialist is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical logistics specialist is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc.

Required Knowledge, Education and Experience:

• Reporting of key performance indicators
• High proficiency in MS products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is required
• 5 to 7 years of experience in a logistics, warehouse environment is required
• Results driven and ability to handle multiple projects
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills
• Critical thinking skills - analysis, interpretation, inference, explanation, self-regulation, open-mindedness, and problem-solving
• Excellent attention to detail
• Must be comfortable working in a multi-cultural business environment
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to employ effective time management skills

Additional Information:

The Logistics role in Bolingbrook is a 100% travel role, meaning the associate will not be reporting to an office but will be traveling weekly to warehouse facilities regionally and potentially nationally. The candidate does not need to be bilingual but must be willing to travel 5 days per week and occasionally on weekends.

In terms of locations of the sites where the associate will visit, the goal is to keep these folks regional for the most part but they could travel nationally. Depending on the mileage from point A to point B, the associate will need to either drive or take a flight to the destination.

At times, we might ask the associate to travel on Sundays, so they would be available to report to the site as early as the time that the site starts their operations (typically, sites open at 6am local time, but some may start at 5am or even sooner). For the most part, the associate will need to get on the road or plane early in the morning. This is because we need the associate to arrive at the site as early as possible on Mondays (otherwise, the sites typically close at 4:30 to 5:30pm local time, and we’ll lose the entire day of work on route).

On Fridays, the associate will return back to their home. At times, we might ask our associates to stay longer to cover the entire shift before they head back home on Fridays.

Depending on the volume of each site, the duration of the visit varies. It could be a few days at the higher volume sites, or a few hours at smaller ones.
