Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels for John H. Carter Co., Inc. ("the Company"). This position will work frequently with Product Managers to select the appropriate inventory to order and to monitor slow, dead, and excess inventory. Effective communication with senior management and other managers throughout the company is essential.

This position requires a steady work habit at all times. The employee must demonstrate the ability to remain focused on work with multiple interruptions daily. In addition, this position can be demanding in terms of time management, knowledge, skills, and commitment to complete tasks daily. Urgency and pressure for prompt, accurate results are routine. Some overtime may be required.

Essential Duties

• Assists Managers in selecting inventory to stock
• Works with detailed historic data to determine order quantities
• Evaluates discount opportunities when purchasing
• Generates new purchase orders to meet ordering requirements
• Tracks purchase orders and deals with delivery and stock issues
• Assists Managers with the monitoring and evaluation of slow, dead, and excess inventory
• Assists with periodic inventory counts and participate in annual full physical count
• Assists with inventory management activities as needed, including implementing process enhancements to streamline the replenishment function
• Maintains job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
• This job is demanding in terms of knowledge skills, commitment, and all other job-related qualifications. Urgency and pressure for prompt, accurate results are routine. Multi-tasking and the ability to handle and manage interruptions is expected.
• Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position.
• Review special orders with purchasing agents
