Private family seeks an energetic Housekeeper to assist with the daily cleaning, laundry and organization of their secondary Hamptons residence. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from roughly 9:00 am – 5:00 pm when the principals are not in residence, and requires overriding flexibility when they are. Occasional travel to the family’s East Hampton residence is also expected. The candidates must be comfortable working under a head housekeeper and reporting to Estate Managers. Guest service and satisfaction is of the utmost importance in this position, as the family does a significant amount of entertaining. Ironing and laundry as well as maintaining inventory lists are essential to the role. A knowledge of the area, farm stands, and local markets is required, as this role will include running errands in the area. This candidate must be comfortable with pet care of one dog and a few birds as this will also be required in this position.

Requirements:

• Strong command of English language; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 3 - 5+ years related experience working in a similar role for a private family where the utmost discretion is required
• Experience in four or five-star resorts a PLUS
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities
• Physically agile; able to maintain sprawling, manage ample staircases daily and lift 50 pounds with ease
• Strong laundry and ironing skills a MUST
• Willing and able to work in a home with pets and provide light care for the family’s mid-size dog
• Tech-savvy; must be well-versed in iPhones, iPads, radios, smart-home technology, HVAC systems, lighting, audio/visual equipment, printers and wifi
• Valid Drivers License required
• Valid Passport a PLUS
• Legally able to work in the United States

  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to perform museum-quality cleaning with proficiency in special surfaces (wood, glass, leather, antiques, silver, etc.)
• General housekeeping and upkeep of residence
• Grocery shopping for the family and residence; ensuring proper groceries are in stock at all times
• Creating and maintaining inventory lists and vendor logs
• Washing, ironing and folding linens, towels and clothing; managing items sent out for professional care
• Assisting with packing and unpacking for moving and travel; wardrobe maintenance and organization
