Dental X-Ray Technician Primary Purpose: Under the general supervision of the Radiology Clinic Manager, supports and contributes to the clinic mission statement by using and teaching proper exposure techniques, and performing other related activities in the Radiology Clinic.

Essential Functions: Responsible for overall technical quality control in oral radiology clinics ensuring safety protocols as
follows:
- Provides Instructions to 1st year students on image capture techniques.
- Monitors 2nd year students and grade student performance by providing verbal and written feedback on EHR system regarding proper technique and use of equipment.
- Overseen students to follow proper infection control best practices using PPE functions and use of radiology equipment.
- Ability to independently perform full range of quality image taking, to include I-Cats, Tomos, FMX, Panos, Cephs, Bitewings, Periapical, and Occlusal.
- Enter information regarding I-Cat images taken; format reports that contain x-ray images to be forwarded to internal and external providers.
- Ensure the use of excellent customer service skills keeping patient care and safety protocols at the forefront of the student / patient experience.
- Assist receptionist with patient care activities to include scheduling patient appointments, entering patient information and confirmation of fee arrangements in clinical system.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the radiology facility and equipment; replenish and replace supplies as necessary.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Radiology Clinic Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of: - Digital radiography equipment and usage including CBCT / Ceph and Pano equipment.
- Dental terminology.
- Radiation safety by understanding and applying proper exposure techniques.
- Physics positioning patients for optimal image taking.
- Infection control procedures.
- Basic computer operations include Excel, image import/export, and electronic duplication
- of files to CD and HIPAA compliance.
Ability to: - Take digital FMX radiographs of the highest diagnostic standard.
- Demonstrate to students and staff technicians the use of the radiographic equipment and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students also demonstrate excellent interpersonal patient care.
Experience: - Minimum two years' experience as an RDA in dental practice.
Education: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current RDA License.
- Current BLS/CPR.
- Current California certification in Radiation Safety.
Working Conditions: - Position is full-time, five (5) days per week, seven and one-half (7.5) hours per day.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Monitors equipment and provides quality control for oral radiology clinics.
- Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens may reasonably be anticipated. Personal protective equipment will be provided to reduce or eliminate exposure to routine or limited infectious agents.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of: - Knowledge of the Electronic Health record system such as EHR/MiPACS/ DOLPHIN.
Experience: - Taking CBCT imaging in dental practice or x-ray lab.
Ability to: - Work independently with modern x-ray equipment.
- Maintain a high level of productivity.
- Adapt to a changing environment.
- Organize and prioritize assignments and having the ability to multitask
Other: - Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Hiring Range: $32.39
