Job Description

Apex Systems is currently hiring for AI Engineer to join our team with one of clients in the Birmingham, AL area! You will work with the AI Solutions Team to address a backlog of AI use cases and implement innovative solutions that drive organizational efficiency and transformation. This role focuses primarily on Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies.

Onsite expectation: Hoover, AL- hybrid 2 days onsite

Pay range: $50-$60 an hour, W2

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:

• Strong experience in Generative AI and Agentic AI development.

Familiarity with:

• RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for generative AI projects.
• MCP (Model Context Protocol) for agentic AI solutions.
• Concepts like A2A (Agent-to-Agent) communication.
• Proficiency in AI orchestration tools (e.g., Bedrock).

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly standups, monthly staff meetings, and 1:1 sessions with your manager.
• Meet with business stakeholders to gather requirements for AI use cases.
• Perform solution design, coding, and monitoring of AI systems.
• Develop and maintain Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions (approx. 70% focus).
• Ensure proper integration and orchestration using tools like Bedrock.
• Support existing AI solutions and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Design, build, and monitor new AI solutions aligned with business needs.
• Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Support ongoing AI initiatives and ensure successful implementation of use cases

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in Generative AI and Agentic AI development.
• Familiarity with:
• RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for generative AI projects.
• MCP (Model Context Protocol) for agentic AI solutions.
• Concepts like A2A (Agent-to-Agent) communication.
• Proficiency in AI orchestration tools (e.g., Bedrock).
• Solid coding skills and ability to design scalable AI solutions.
• Excellent communication and requirement-gathering skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building chatbots, summarization tools, or similar AI applications.
• Understanding of AI architecture and deployment in enterprise environments
